Gloucestershire brother and sister duo reveals an animated video for their brand new cut Throwing Stones.

Following the appearance on Tourist’s latest single We Stayed Up All Night, the duo teams up with British producer again, bringing us yet another shimmering offering, Throwing Stones.

Darkly tinged and Hitchcock-inspired, the latest effort from Ardyn is an elegant rhythmic variation of soothing sounds. Polished synth backing and Katy Pearson’s already distinct melodic vocals carry through a subtle floaty feeling. The dreamy soundscape gives away a sense of comfort, yet the message hailing from the lyrics emphasises the restlessness and disillusion of the world.

Directed by Alden Volney (Temples, Nick Mulvey), the accompanying visuals add an otherworldly factor to Throwing Stones. Simple but straightforward, the vivid imagery strikes with colour play that masterfully reflects the emotive and intent nature of the song.

Katy Pearson says of the track:

‘Throwing Stones’ was inspired by feeling very disillusioned, in particular with the current state of politics and unrest in the world. With everything seemingly going a bit haywire, I felt I needed to put that into words.  We’d also recently watched ‘The Birds’ by Alfred Hitchcock which definitely stuck with me, so the song partly draws from that film. Working on this song was so much fun and Tourist, who produced it, took it to a really exciting place, in fact this is one of our favourite songs we’ve ever written.
