NECK DEEP Dominate Day One of Leeds Festival 2017
The Welsh pop punk rockers deliver one of the most outstanding performances at Leeds Festival.
As the first day of Leeds Festival was coming to an end, we had the pleasure of watching Neck Deep round things off at The Pit Stage. Scoring No. 4 with their third full-length The Peace And The Panic, naturally put everyone in a celebratory mood. Many fans had been waiting around since the morning, making sure the first row spots were truly theirs. It was a pretty special show, with a grandiose feeling hanging in the air and the band making everyone feel like they’re part of something bigger, and something better.
Neck Deep are a pure embodiment of all great things pop punk music conveys, with anthemic arena-worthy tunes and live shows that keep you on the edge. Motion Sickness, taken from their new album, was a loud and punchy opener that had the crowd jumping up and down, starting to shape some great beginnings of a proper mosh pit.
Serving their vast array of infectious tunes, Neck Deep surely showcased a little bit of both, the peace and definitely some of the panic. Gold Steps and Kali Ma received massive singalongs whilst December and A Part Of Me brought all the emotional vibes along, with some tears being shed I’m sure.
Surprisingly, their latest single In Bloom resonated with the audience beautifully, who seemed to know all the words already, despite the very recent release. What’s more, the band even managed to get a special guest to join them on stage, Architects’ very own Sam Carter who features on the explosive and honest track Don’t Wait.
Neck Deep definitely are one of the best bands of the current punk spectre. They revealed their soul on The Peace And The Panic, they constantly appreciate their fans, and they still deliver pretty impressive and in-you-face rowdy shows. I really can’t wait to see them evolve and transform into a bigger live act. They’re set to play O2 Academy Brixton this October, looks like a perfect opportunity to witness some greatness.
