Wolf Alice’s highly anticipated sophomore, Visions Of A Life, is coming close, and the London quartet teases with some fancy visuals for their smashing single, Beautifully Unconventional.

The song itself possesses that tangy grove that we’ve learned to associate with Wolf Alice. Ellie Rowsell’s ability to deliver ballsy and yet adoring vocals impresses over sparse rock-themed soundscape. The firm beat grounds the playful guitar track, and lyrically, well, what else can we expect than a marvel.

As for the video it almost works as a juxtapose to the song itself. With its 50’s Hollywood glamour feel, it’s as conventionally beautiful as it can probably get.

Rowsell explains:

This song is a celebration of all your non-conforming friends; a celebration of individuality and the adventures that come with embracing that. For me personally, I imagined me and my mate Hannah as Christian Slater and Winona Rider in Heathers (albeit looking nothing like them). The video has nothing to do with the song — I just didn’t want to have a mullet anymore, seeing as lots of people tore me to pieces in our last video, so it was an excuse to wear a wig.
