South London artist, Sampha wins this year’s highly anticipated Hyundai Mercury Prize.

Out of the immensely talented shortlist including highly established acts such as Ed Sheeran and The XX, the singer-producer’s powerful debut, Process, impressed the most.

“I’d like to dedicate this to my parents”, Sampha claimed as he made an emotive acceptance speech. Finally having stepped out with his own record after years of guest vocals on songs by stars such as Beyoncé, Drake and Kanye West.

The highly prestigious prize and the attention around it will definitely boost the soul and R&B artist’s career and we wish him the best of luck, and congratulations.
