Live: FRIGHTENED RABBIT // O2 Forum, London
Scotland’s treasured rock band Frightened Rabbit graced the O2 Forum Kentish Town stage this past Friday in celebration of the 10-year anniversary of their second album, The Midnight Organ Fight.
The night opened with Charles Watson, whose mellow tunes were not indicative of the energetic night ahead. However, his passion worked well to warm up the audience and his songs were inoffensive.
Soon after, Frightened Rabbit took to the stage. The roar that accompanied their appearance was impressive. The crowd seemed to be entirely made up of die-hard fans that had seen the band grow from its beginning. Lead singer Scott Hutchison went so far to joke about those in the crowd that had probably illegally downloaded the album onto a CD back when it was released in 2008. Frightened Rabbit performed the album in its entirety, with some added favourites from their extensive discography.
Overall the night was heartwarming and sincere. Hutchison thanked fans for the band’s success, commenting on how they were only able to celebrate this album with the support of the albums that followed. The entire performance felt like a celebration not only of The Midnight Organ Fight but also of the band’s experience and the influence of its fans on its success.
