ARCHITECTS Share Video for ‘Royal Beggars’

Sharing striking visuals, you’ll be hit hard by the newest Architects single Royal Beggars.

Architects 2018

Brighton quintet Architects have released their second single Royal Beggars off their upcoming album Holy Hell, which will be released on November 9th. In signature Architects’ style, it’s a hard-hitting song that will leave all sorts of tumultuous emotions flowing through you.

A brief moment of tranquil electronics lure you into a false sense of serenity, before the instruments burst in with monumental force. Melodic verses composed of melancholic clean vocals contrast against the harsh screams found in the lead up to the chorus, before a searing chorus knocks you off your feet with forceful textures and uncompromising lyrics. The bridge begins delicately with balanced vocal harmonies and tinkers of piano, before culminating in impassioned screams and heavyhearted instrumentals. The track showcases a more melodic side to the band, as they slow down the tempo, allowing time for all of the weight to sink into you. Sam Carter’s vocals are placed front and centre, and you’ll doubtless be blown away by his emotionally-laden delivery of the impactful lyrics.

The visuals further draw out the desolate feeling of the track, as scenes of the band performing in a wintery landscape are contrasted with shocking scenes of drugs, alcohol and blood. It’s full of striking moments, with one being when bassist Ali Dean is shown with bloody tears streaming down his face and another being when guitarist Adam Christianson wipes away the blood on his face with money. Take from the video what you will, but you cannot deny that this is a band that is truly special in the way it manages to convey the human experience of feeling.

The band have recently announced their biggest-ever EU & UK tour, taking place in January and February 2019.
