THE JAPANESE HOUSE Unveils Video for ‘Lilo’
Delving into raw emotions, the newest video from The Japanese House is sure to break your heart.
The Japanese House shares a video for her latest single Lilo and it’s every bit as heartbreaking as the track.
Set in the tranquil English countryside, the video explores all of the emotions associated with a struggling relationship as it depicts a relationship on the verge of sinking. Through scenes of a burning car and shared embraces, it strikes a chord within you as you visually see the relationship deteriorate, as we start out with Amber Bain (The Japanese House) and Marika Hackman sharing a bed, but ends with a solitary figure on the bed.
The Japanese House says:
Filming this video was painful, easy, real and surreal all at once. I asked Marika to be in the video because I couldn’t think who better to be in it than the person the song is about. I’m extremely grateful that she said yes; I’m lucky that my ex-girlfriend is also my best friend. It was a slightly mad decision but ultimately, I think we captured exactly what I wanted to, which was a true and genuine representation of the love and intimacy we share. When I watch this video my heart breaks, but in kind of a nice way.
