Punk rock band Zebrahead is back! After the release of their 2015 album Walk The Plank and multiple tours throughout Europe and Asia, the band has announced their new studio album, Brain Invaders, which will be released on March 8th. To mark the occasion, they have unleashed the first single and it’s exactly what you’d expect from Zebrahead.

All My Friends Are Nobodies opens with strong guitars, the kind that persist throughout the entire song and immediately make you want to get up and dance. The lyrics cut in: “To all my friends who are just like me / Another cog in the big machine.” Despite sounding negative at first, the song is surprisingly optimistic. Vocalist Ali Tabatabaee complains that life is tough and we are all born to die, but then belts out “a broke future don’t mean our hearts gotta turn rotten.” As Tabatabaee puts it:

It has a great message of being there for the people you care about, even though you might not be in the best emotional state yourself.

And isn’t that the kind of attitude we all need right now? The single is accompanied by a trippy music video of a masked woman with a blond wig who seems to be in apparent despair, locked away and chained, until her disguise is removed. Despite the low budget look of the video, the message fits the song and more importantly, the unusual Zebrahead aesthetic. We are looking forward to what the rest of the album has to offer.

The band have also unveiled album cover art and tracklisting for Brain Invaders.
