GANG OF YOUTHS // Laneway Festival 2019
Gang Of Youths are one of Australia’s biggest bands and as they continue to take over some of the biggest venues in the country, they took it upon themselves to take over Laneway Festival as well.
You only had to take a look at their first song in their set last weekend to understand this. The guys can perform. Engaging with the crowd effortless and creating an inviting space and emotive environment is what gives them a strong point of difference to other bands going around. Being open and honest with their fans was apparent and appreciated by the huge amount of people their pulled to the chilly night in Melbourne. Some punters were only there to see them, and rightly so. Gang Of Youths didn’t disappoint.
What Can I Do If The Fire Goes Out? made heart race and Magnolia made heart wrenched. A choir like performance from the crowd during Let Me Down Easy made it quite the spectacle standing at the back. Frontman David Le’aupepe definitely worked every corner of that stage. Throwing kicks, guitars and hair flicks in every direction, ensuring a captivating show. An ideal way to end a long day of Australian and international artists that made the festival one of the best in Australia.
