Live: ALASKALASKA // Omeara, London
In support of their debut album, The Dots, ALASKALASKA filled London’s Omeara with their dreamy, ethereal art-pop.
Frontwoman Lucinda Duarte-Holman’s vocals combined with the rhythmic beats and sultry saxophone made for an atmospheric sound that felt like it could transport you to another world altogether.
Opening with closing track Skin followed by title track The Dots, the set showcased every element of their repertoire, including tracks such as Bees and Happyface, as well as the most unforgettable seamless, expertly executed transition from Sweat to Meateater.
They may have built a distinct, refreshing sound for themselves already, but there’s no telling what ALASKALASKA will come up with next. We, however, rest assured that if tonight was any indication, it’s bound to be very promising.
