Of all the heartbreak anthems in the world, this might be one of the catchiest ones we’ve heard yet. 

Forget Batman and Robin, WhoHurtYou is the newest dynamic duo to keep your eyes on. Formed of Jack Barakat from All Time Low and Kevin Fisher, aka Sweet Talker, they’ve emerged with their infectious sound and relatable lyricism that grapples with the emotions that accompany a heartbreak. Explaining the collaboration, Jack begins:

A lot of people think of me as All Time Low’s comic relief, but everyone has their ups and downs, and last year was really tough for me. I handled my first big breakup in all of the wrong ways and ended up in therapy after some close friends encouraged me to seek help. Kevin had gone through a similar rough patch and shared with me that songwriting really helped him through it.

Kevin continues:

I was already on the other side of it, so I had a perspective to share. My experience in therapy taught me how powerful of a tool songwriting can be, so I invited Jack to come hang at the studio. We want to send the message that therapy is something no one should be ashamed of. If these songs helped us so much, maybe they could help other people.

They’ve shared their catchy first single Wish We Never Met, blending together pop sensibilities with open lyrics that gives listeners an unfiltered look into the emotions that brought about the track. The visuals act as a more literal interpretation of this, and sees Jack and Kevin undergoing treatment where the women that have hurt them are removed from their memories. The track is taken off their forthcoming Stages EP, which is set for release later this year.
