EASY LIFE Share New Single ‘Earth’
Raising awareness about the environment doesn’t tend to be the most obvious lyrical subject, yet the ease with which Easy Life tackle it in Earth makes it seem second nature.
Leicester five-piece Easy Life share concerns over the future of the planet with their newest single Earth.
Although environmental concerns are hotly-tipped in everyday discourse, it’s not exactly the first topic to come to mind when you think of songwriting subjects yet Easy Life have not only managed to incorporate it into their lyricism, but they do so in such a catchy way that you will find yourself enticed by what the band has to say. Pulsing with thrumming beats and seamlessly blurring between hip-hop and pop, it’s a track that has every potential to submerge itself into your subconscious.
Lead singer Murray says of the track, “The world is a fucked up place, and sometimes it can feel terribly isolating.” The band uses the track to address that “we are running out of resources, and the future is looking bleak”, and speaks for those who, in the words of the track, ultimately ‘don’t feel at home on this planet’. The video for the track conveys this intention clearly as well, with seas of plastic and a rubbish-ridden landscape all making an appearance.
