Live: JAKE BUGG // Roundhouse, London
Returning with new music, Jake Bugg played an inspiring, crowd-pleasing set at Camden’s Roundhouse last week.
The show kicked off with an empty stage backlit with Be Someone playing in the background. The crowd loaded with suspense after the song had finished, Jake Bugg walked on waving happily to start the night. Opening with Rabbit Hole, it was certain that everyone was in for a great night.
Showing that he’s back in full force, Jake played his newest track Kiss Like The Sun early on in the night, finding the audience dancing from start to end. Despite not having much movement on stage, he kept the attention of the masses throughout the outstanding night. With the spectacular lights changing to fit each captivating song and various breathtaking instrumentals, it was hard to not watch in awe.
Lighting Bolt was a clear hit with fans singing alongside, whilst Broken took a more emotional approach. Performing the track on stage alone with just two spotlights on himself, it amped up the honesty and heartfelt feel to the song. Known for a reserved demeanour, Jake did make sure to thank everyone for everything and for listening to his new music throughout the night.
Ending the grand night with the track Two Fingers, the song saw the crowd sticking their own two fingers in gratitude. Even though there was a real mix of ages, it was unmistakable how much everyone had got what they needed from the night.
Jake Bugg remarkably displayed that you don’t have to go crazy on stage to capture the wonder of a whole crowd at his awe-inspiring gig.
