Charli Adams reminisces on the past with a nostalgic ballad, Backseat, the first instalment from her awaited debut EP, Good At Being Young, due out in January.

With soothing synths, gentle drums and mellow vocals, Backseat is a pop ballad come alt rock track, an ode to the tail-end of adolescence. The single is taken from Charli Adams‘ forthcoming debut EP, Good At Being Young, out 31st January via Color Study.

The visuals for the track combine shots of Charli singing into the camera while standing and dancing on a canal boat. The video also features an amazing cameo from the cutest dog so worth a watch if you’re a dog fan.

Charli explains her thought process behind the track:

The night before I was heading into the studio to finish the EP, I was on a drive with two of my friends on some back roads outside Nashville. It was the first time our conversation had ever felt robotic to me, like small talk among close friends. So I turned up the music and put my head out the window and tuned out for the rest of the drive. I went home that night to write Backseat and I immediately felt like it was the missing piece of the EP.
