DIZZY Release New Single ‘Sunflower’
Dizzy are back with a reflective new single, Sunflower.
Produced by Dizzy and mixed by Craig Silvey (Arcade Fire, Florence & the Machine), Sunflower is the first release since their 2019’s Heavy / Twist EP and 2018’s debut album, Baby Teeth.
“It is a three and a half minute ‘snap out of it!’ to myself when I’m feeling low, unconfident or not myself”, says frontwoman Katie Munshaw. The track fluctuates between tender thoughts and hard self-questioning. Munshaw uses sweet yet dark humour to show both the comical and truthful aspect of a heartbreak, “I wanna hear the sound / Of what a broken heart does / When I fling it to the ground.”
Their debut album, Baby Teeth, won the Juno Award for Alternative Album of the Year in 2019 and admiration from The Times, Beats 1, NME, and Stereogum. Dizzy have toured with Death Cab for Cutie and Tokyo Police Club and are touring with Oh Wonder this month.
