NASTY CHERRY Unveil New Single ‘Shoulda Known Better’
The unconventional, mysterious quartet Nasty Cherry return with their first new single of 2020, Shoulda Known Better.
Comprised of singer Gabi Bechtel, bassist Georgia Somary, guitarist Chloe Chaidez, and drummer Debbie Knox-Hewson, the perplexing rock group brought forth their feminine mystic and edgy sentiments with their debut release last year. Followed by a social media hysteria managed by the founder, Charli XCX, and a 6-part docuseries on Netflix, “I’m With The Band: Nasty Cherry”.
Taken from the band’s new EP, set for release via Charli XCX’s Vroom Vroom Recordings later this summer, Shoulda Known Better is an inconsistently crafted pop anthem filled with red flags and tardy reflections of a toxic romance. A fulfilling self-sabotage narrative for a modern, hopeless romantic. The new release is accompanied by an animated video done by multi-functional artist Du Blonde.
Speaking on the new track, Nasty Cherry explain:
‘Shoulda Known Better’ is a song about making dumb decisions despite knowing better. We wrote it in LA a couple of months ago, at a time we all felt we were falling for the same shit over and over. The vibe of ‘Shoulda Known Better’ is the angel and devil on your shoulder, simultaneously shout-singing at you, and you’re kind of enjoying it.
