Comprising of guitarist/vocalist Alex Griffiths, drummer/vocalist Charlie Glover Wright, Joe ‘Blue’ Moyle on keys and Alex Guess on bass, London-based Weird Milk are an alt-rock band who are renowned for their Beach Boys-esque vocal harmonies and exhilarating guitar riffs. Delivering punchy sonics not only in the studio but also during their rowdy live sets, Weird Milk have landed themselves places at Latitude and Standon Calling, and many more forthcoming festivals.

Returning with their upcoming EP’s lead single, Vienna packs a punch with its self-assured vocals and stirring guitar licks. Juxtaposing between subdued, endearing harmonies and passionate percussion, this track excitingly builds to an uplifting and smile-inducing chorus.

Alex Griffiths shares:

‘Vienna’ is a very personal release to me. It was written at a moment in my life where I reached a crossroads and was totally stuck. A few amazing individuals, whom I likened to ‘angels’, swooped into my life to guide me in my time of need. They left their impressions on me, I chose my path and then they each flew away. I’m grateful to this day and though I am not spiritual or religious, it reshaped my perception of fate. I worked on it with Charlie over lockdown and we finished the arrangement and music together, drawing inspiration from Wings, The Band and Phoebe Bridgers.

Vienna is the first track from Weird Milk’s imminent EP We Were Strangers, which is set to arrive this autumn, corresponding with their debut UK headline tour. These electrifying alt-rockers have given us much to look forward to!
