After the release of his dreamy debut single Nightmares, Jordan Nash returns with his yet another genre-bending track entitled Hillside. Sonically versatile and embedded with 1970s influences, this track is the musical embodiment of golden hour due to Nash’s entrancing vocals. As if to reflect the conflicting emotions in the lyrics, there is a striking juxtaposition between the delicate piano keys, and the explosive gunshot catalysing the song’s chorus.

Glorious and effortlessly captivating, the apt visualiser for Hillside features Nash solely playing baseball in a hilly field, against a stunningly vibrant sunset backdrop.

Nash speaks on the single:

I wrote ‘Hillside’ to show spontaneity – it’s my take on rap. I reference almost everything I was experiencing at that moment in time, and a lot of the time I spent in my studio by myself wishing I was in the Hollywood Hills just soaking up the sun. I also wanted to play with the emotions of the song by writing about slightly sadder things and placing those lyrics over a beat that is way happier. There’s also a good few playful metaphors in there… try to catch them!

Already on a sublime musical high after releasing just two singles, this is certainly just the beginning for star-studded artist Jordan Nash. Stay tuned for his debut EP Sixty Four, which is due for release on 3rd November and is now available for pre-order.
