VOLUMES Announce New Album ‘Happier?’

Having continually teased new songs over the last year, Volumes confirm upcoming album Happier?.

Volumes 2021

Having been on the Fearless Records roster for a few years now, Volumes show that they’re not going anywhere as they announce forthcoming album Happier?. Set for release on November 19th, the band never stopped sharing new music over the pandemic and it feels like a long-time building. The announcement comes alongside their newest single, Bend, which sees the band continuing to craft seamless vocal lines and emotionally-charged choruses that will reach into the depths of your heart.

With a building opening, it shows off what Volumes have always done beautifully in melding together sensuous electronics with impassioned rock instrumentals. As a veil of vulnerability is draped over the verses with exposed vocals and subdued beats, the lyrics provide a hint at the conflicted mindset, shakily questioning ‘maybe I’m fine’. The spell of uncertainty breaks in the chorus, and a rush of furious instrumentals and pent-up feelings make their way out in a cathartic release. Lamenting the inability of another person to give way in a relationship, singer Michael Barr further explains of the track:

‘Bend’ is about how, in a relationship, sometimes one person can break another while all along they never seem to bend or break themselves. It’s really about how we can easily turn into someone else and start to tear each other down.
