Hailing from the modest town of Os, Norway, Simen Mitlid is a singer-songwriter who specialises in crafting Nordic indie-folk tunes. His critically-acclaimed third album Birds; Or, Stories From Charlie B’s Travels from Grønland to the Sun, and Back Again was released in 2020 and, since then, Mitlid has delved into songwriting and production for other artists including Lokoy, Siv Jakobsen and Benedikt.

After a short hiatus, Mitlid returns to his solo music with the release of his latest single Leon T., which is an irresistible indie track inspired by his great grandfather’s grief over losing his favourite book. The drum-driven single Leon T. encapsulates Mitlid’s musical experimentation, due to the implementation of a full band in the studio when the track was recorded.

Set for release in Spring 2022, Simen Mitlid’s forthcoming sophomore EP Social, of which Leon T. is the second single, illustrates that there is much more to look forward to from the multi-talented maestro.
