The kids from Park Hotel have released a cracker of a tune called Gone As A Friend.

From the beginning of the song it takes off with some serious bass and keys. Tim Abbey‘s vocals enter and Rebeca Marcos-Rosa joins soon there after, and together like a game of ping pong, play back and forth. It oozes cool without trying too hard, which is a hard thing to master. They have nailed the layering of genres and sounds into just over 4 minutes.

The video that has been made, directed by Victor Duchêne, has one following the other around London. We follow them following each other into pubs and down the dark streets and then off the beaten track down some dusty road. I was in heavy suspense the whole way through and it has you right up until the end.

Park Hotel will play at The Victoria on March 14th. We shouldn’t have to wait much longer for some more funk-dance beats hopefully, with an album being worked on entering our eardrums soon.
