The Libertines release first song since 2004 – watch

It’s been only 11 years. Over the decade. What is it comparing to the lifetime? Not that long right?

No. No, IT’S STILL LONG! Very, very long time.

But The Libertines are back and everyone is happy. If you’re not happy then I refuse to understand.

The new song Gunga Din will appear on their third forthcoming album named Anthems For Doomed Youth and I must admit that I already love all the titles. There’s a track called BarbariansBelly of the Beast or The Milkman’s Horse. The band said that most of the songs is autobiographical. Well, it keeps you curious that’s for sure!

And how awesome is this new tune! I mean the lyrics are perfect! I feel like I can or could have in the past relate to every part of the song. Like

Getting sick and tired of
Feeling sick and tired again

And

‘Coz I got the right
To make it look as if
I’m doing something with my life

And

Woke up again
To my evil twin
That mirror is fucking ugly and I’m
Sick and tired of looking at him

Or

Just another day
And it feels like nothing’s changed
Oh fuck it
Oh here I go again

Like the entire song is just perfect. Anyway, yes the new record is to be out on the 4th September and will include 12 tracks. It was brought to life in Thailand with the producer Jake Gosling who is best known for working with Ed Sheeran, Wiley and..One Direction. But that didn’t scare the band, perhaps made them a bit anxious at the beginning. After all, they all seem very happy with the results. Being interviewed earlier Carl Barât told the NME We couldn’t have done it in London, or in England, or even in Europe. I’m ecstatic about what we’ve done, which is very, very rare for me to say. We wrote the album we needed to write. To what Pete Doherty added People are going to love it. We’re all really proud of it.

The band also played the secret show at Glastonbury last Friday (26th June) which was a delight!
