The world has been obsessed with dystopian order and post apocalyptic scenarios for a while now. Many movies and books treat of this matter so no wonder the music awaits next in line. Recently, tremendous wave of picturesque chaos has been coming through a big number of video clips. And as it seems, it’s not planning on stopping any time soon.

Yesterday was a happy Monday, indeed. I mean after seeing all the teasing gifs posted by Olly Alexander, the frontman of Years & Years, I knew something big was coming. However, I was not ready to get a music video for my FAVOURITE song of their debut album.

Let’s go on a survival quest then.

Years & Years have decided to add a little bit of drama to their new clip for the song Eyes Shut. Well written melodic ballad arises many vivid scenes and impresssions but the dystopian society, blazing buildings and turning towards the idea of a cult has never crossed my mind while listening to the song. Not sure if that image works for me, just yet. Nevertheless, the single is a big deal and I am open to any interpretations. I support this London electro-pop trio in every project they work on and I have a feeling they are just getting started.

Communion was released this year in July and went straight to number 1 in the UK, outselling  the rest of the top 5 combined in its first week. Quite achievement, isn’t it?
