NO HOT ASHES New Song Review // “Cool Cat”
NO HOT ASHES have shared new song Cool Cat.
Stockport-based four-piece might have released their catchiest offering so far. Infectious guitars, forceful drums and unsettled, in some way, vocals which blend with a brass section creating energetic spirit deriving from its melody.
An assortment of instruments exploded and this song fell out of the sky. “Cool Cat” is cool, and Gavin Monaghan is a wizard – they say.
The band have worked with platinum record producer Gavin Monaghan (Editors, The Twang & Ocean Colour Scene) on the track which they describe to be their “most complete song to date.” If you listen closely you’ll be able hear their old funk influences hailing from it.
No Hot Ashes have been dubbed “Big in 2016” by This Feeling and Fred Perry Subculture. Cool Cat is a great follow-up to their debut single Goose which made excellent introduction to the band’s funk rock sound. Listen to the song below!
