DROWNERS New Song Review // “Conversations With Myself”
DROWNERS unveil new single Conversations With Myself.
Conversations With Myself, the third offering to be taken from the highly anticipated sophomore album ON DESIRE, proudly follows previous tracks, Cruel Ways and Pick Up The Pace.
Wales-via-NYC four-piece has been setting the bar high with all their recent releases. As it appears, each single so far has got the potential to become a solid hit. Please, bear in mind we’ve heard only three from the upcoming record.
The opening drums of Conversations With Myself build up nicely throughout the entire track what seems to be a substantial foundation of the whole structure of the song. The repetitive keys sequence, accompanied by steering guitars, makes it a stand-out among Drowners‘ extensive repertoire and certainly a pleasant earworm.
The only thing that’s been bugging me, is that considering the title I was expecting a little bit more from the lyrical side. However, that does not mean the song lacks depth or a straightforward message. Moreover, Matthew Hitt‘s ability of using his profound vocal to lure the audience shows up again, and works out again.

Recorded and mixed by Claudius Mittendorfer (Interpol, Johnny Marr, Neon Indian), ON DESIRE is to be released on June 24th via Frenchkiss Records. To be honest, I actually have been counting down the days.
