UNO MØLLER Teases Us with ‘Lizard’

Uno Møller unveils Lizard, the first single of forthcoming album.

Singer-songwriter Uno Møller, most commonly known as the guitarist of later indie outfit Team Me, is back with a new tune and it is unlike anything you’ve heard from him so far.

With forthcoming album, Frog Box, Møller is taking an entirely new direction.

Ditching the simplicity of acoustic guitar-tunes, Lizard is a spacious tune with a flair for reminiscence. With dreamy transcendence, Møller builds up a melodic soundscape. As well as the floating quality to the tune, it also have a kind of flashback nostalgia to it, like the opening scene of Donnie Darko, or something along those lines. Still heavily guitar-based Møller stretches further than ever before taking more intricate and experimental sounds on board.

It is not only the sound that is new for the Norwegian artist, he has also left the label of his previous releases, Lazy Acer Records and is now settled with Furuberget, a local indie label.

Uno Møller says of the track:

I wanted to do something entirely different that I’d done before. To Experiment, without really thinking about that I was doing. The only “rule” I had was that it would be something different. Not just different to other Uno Møller-releases, but different that all other projects I’ve been a part of. In my mind, ‘Lizard’ is a walk-along-a-deserted-road-in-the-summer tune, something I feel throughout the entire album really. I chose ‘Lizard’ as the first single because it represents the album the best. Frog Box have been a way to rediscover the joy of making music, without thinking of the unwritten rules that seem the most important these days. Then I just have to hope that someone gets it.

Lizard is out today through Furuberget, and Frog Box is rumoured to be released later this spring.
