Weird Milk release their debut single, This Close.

The West London four-piece emerges on music scene with the outstanding tempo-shifting single, This Close.

Think romanticising in Alex Turner style but with a 60s twist and you get the latest offering from Weird Milk. This Close is a graceful nod towards an old-school tuning and neatly layered rhythmical structure. The pace changes with the vocals leading the harmonies throughout encapsulating a young love spirit and saving the track from falling flat. “I don’t wanna waste no time tonight girl” delivers a straightforward and emotive declaration it seems, but since “It’s easier to say than do” the hopeless romance takes its toll again.

This Close is a closer look indeed, an introduction to the band’s broad invigorating soundscape. With no live dates announced just yet, I’m sure we’ll hear more from these guys pretty soon.

This Close, out with B-side You, is set for a physical release on March 24th via Ra-Ra Rok Records.
