Father John Misty is back at it with the banter!

Last week the witty singer-songwriter released a video of himself comically unboxing his upcoming album Pure Comedy, and it seems to be no end to the jokes.

This weekend Father John Misty unveiled three new tracks all entitled Generic Pop Song.

Generic Pop Song #3, #9 and #16 popped up on Soundcloud simultaneously as some rather odd tweets appeared on the artist’s Twitter.

But as Father John himself told Pitchfork:

If you take away my music from me, all you have left is a mustache and a bad attitude.

Possibly true, but we still adore his self-deprecating sense of humour and can’t wait for the release of Pure Comedy.

Pure Comedy will be out on April 7th through Bella Union.
