London-based artist shares endearing first offering, Four Walls, taken from his forthcoming EP, Limbo, out in May.

Chaz Thorogood‘s bio makes quite an interesting story. Having grown up in the beautiful surroundings of Devon, quitting school at 16, exploring the coastal lines with his dog and lying about his age to play in local pubs, are just a few life choices that grounded Thorogood‘s nomadic lifestyle. Now you can find Chaz on a 45 year old cabin cruiser on London’s canals with not many facilities the modern civilisation has to offer, such as TV or WIFI. Musician’s free spirit has infiltrated his music, soon giving us the appropriately titled EP, Limbo.

Opening with gentle guitar pulling and tender crooning, Four Walls is the sublime introduction to Thorogood‘s sound. Backed by layered female vocals, the tune encapsulates the delicate manner of musician’s vocal range. With a nostalgic tinge and minimal aesthetics the tune gradually builds up to an emotive crescendo, unravelling the heart-warming melodies. The track shines with elegance and precision, yet leaving a space for a little bit of gratuitous spark.

Living on the boat makes me feel free. It feels like I’m a fly on the wall of one of the busiest cities in the world and it allows me to create, move where I like, be self-sufficient.
