The band unveils hauntingly beautiful collaboration No One Else In Mind.

Blaenavon are not ones to rest on the laurels. Barely having cooled off from touring their immense debut, That’s Your Lot, the Hampshire trio now unveils a magical collaboration with French artist, Soko.

The stunning simplicity of the tune gives all the room for the heart aching lyrics to play out in full bloom. The eloquent phrasing soars above a towering guitar melody, reinforcing the magnificent power of the raw and capturing lyricism. The haunting intertwining of Benjamin Gregory and Soko’s vocals has a daunting quality. “I have no one else in mind, I tried but it never satisfies”, it’s a tormenting and beautiful love song that will shake even the hardest of hearts.

Recorded during a Paris trip in the winter of 2016 the track seems to hold a special significance. Frontman Ben elaborates:

Soko and I were introduced by mutual friend and wonderful photographer, Olivia Bee. I’d never written with anyone before as normally it’s such an immersive and introspective process for me: however, we clicked really naturally and within a few hours the song was completely finished. It’s something I’d like to do again. It’s about only having eyes for one person, but knowing it’s something that could never work. Resigned to failure. It’s a slow acceptance…
