Brighton based post-hardcore band Oceans unveil brand new single Dopamine.

Described as a ‘conceptual tune’, one could only ask what concept that may be as the staccato confusion throughout the melody leaves little room to read anything at all. Looking past the cheesy one-liners in the lyrics, there are some great spots of compact guitar-work, yet this can’t save a tune that is so completely off the rails.

Dopamine combines too many far-fetched elements, and though there certainly are parts of potential, they’re quickly drowned out by an avalanche of mediocre attempts. Over all Oceans don’t shy away from enthusiasm, but the pieces just don’t add up with this one.
