DECLAN MCKENNA Unveils Visuals for ‘Why Do You Feel So Down?’
Unleashing another banger from his recent debut What Do You Think About The Car?, Declan McKenna shows off his savvy lyrics and engaging melodies once more.

Declan McKenna’s adolescent indie hit us hard this year, and his debut, What Do You Think About The Car?, shows for a much more grown approach to music than his 18 years. With bouncy guitars and relatable lyrics, McKenna has definitely made a name for himself.
His newest cut, lifted from the debut is chiller in its composition than his more extravagant tracks. The more pop-related soundscape also seems to make for a fun video as the visuals released alongside the track are pretty odd.
In what looks like a 90’s aerobics TV shows, Declan shows off the lyrics as subtitles. The low quality reimagine the TV sets of the time and it’s not a flattering aesthetic.
Speaking about the song, Declan says:
I really don’t know where the whole sparkly slacker pop thing came from but it happened, I think it’s because the whole song is kind of jokey, making fun of myself (and a lot of other things) so it came out as an almost piss-take dance tune, but it’s also a bit sad.
It’s a lot of things, I think I was just sixteen when I started on this one. I was a confused babby…
