The Wombats release great new tune Turn from their forthcoming album, Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life.

Following the announcement of their fourth studio album and the subsequent release of Lemon To A Knife Fight, The Wombats share another treat with Turn.

Drawing on a sense of melodic solitude, the pining in the lyrics is almost surprising. Underneath the declaration of love there is a simmering feeling of fear. “It won’t get better than this”, seems almost bittersweet in the context of the sonics of the cut.

In the end, love can be a double edged sword right?

Frontman Matthew Murphy explains:

‘Turn’ was written in New York and is probably the most electronic song on the album. Which is weird as I was pushing for the album to be more organic and less synth driven. ‘Turn’ was… kind of a beautiful mistake.

Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life is due to be released on February 9th 2018 via Kobalt Music Recordings.

The Wombats will tour the UK through March 2018.
