Melbourne lads Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever have entered 2018 with a cracker of tune.

Mainland is the new track from the band that have a pretty epic few months ahead of them.

After the success of their EP, The French Press, last year they have landed on many people’s radar and rightly so. Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever produce infectiously dreamy tracks and Mainland fits the brief flawlessly. It pours into your heart like a warm summer breeze with sprawling guitars and modern nostalgia. Taking inspiration from a trip to visit family in Italy singer/songwriter/guitarist Tom Russo explains how the track came to fruition.

I was reading about a refugee crisis unfolding not far away in the Mediterranean Sea. The song is about longing, disillusionment, privilege and holding on to love as a kind of shield.

RBCF are on the Laneway Festival line up, April has them playing Coachella then around the US and Canada then it’s to the UK & Europe in May. Catch them at the following dates:
