JAMES BAY Live out His Childhood Dream in ‘Pink Lemonade’ Video
James Bay has unveiled glittering visuals for his latest single Pink Lemonade.
Coming from his forthcoming sophomore album, Electric Light, set to be released in May, Pink Lemonade is a thrilling rhythmical delight, beaming with dynamism and electrifying riffs.
The track’s bold production is a perfect match for the visual accompaniment, with its vintage aesthetics and two-way narrative. From diamond encrusted outfits to building a spaceship, the clip will surely attract your attention.
On the video’s concept, which James Bay created and designed, he says:
The inspiration behind the video comes from the theme of ‘escape’ that runs through the song. I was reminded of a time when I was about 4 years old and I told my parents I’d had enough of living with them and would be leaving home. Obviously, I never went through with it. But the drama of filling a pillow case with my most essential toys, opening the backdoor and announcing to the kitchen that it was time for me to leave is what gave me the idea for the video. I adapted it to add the spaceship part because I thought it would look better than a pillow case. I wanted to do something that felt serious but silly at the same time. From that diamond encrusted top to building my own spaceship, I’m not sure making a video will ever get any better.
Following his internationally acclaimed and multi-million selling debut album, Chaos & The Calm (2015), James Bay‘s second full-length Electric Light will arrive on May 18th via Virgin EMI.
He will also head out on a run of UK dates to coincide with the album release.
