TROPHY EYES Announce New Album ‘The American Dream’
Aussie rockers Trophy Eyes return with bold new tune You Can Count On Me.
Count On Me is the first taste of the band’s forthcoming new record, The American Dream, due out on August 3rd.
Trophy Eyes are back and sounding amazing. Looking outward at the treatment of musicians and artists on social media platforms, You Can Count On Me is a daring track with a straightforward and uplifting message. “Some of my friends sell drugs / But I just sell sad songs / To the ones that feel alone / You can count on my when it all goes wrong”, this is such a great line destined for massive singalongs. With an ironic twist and anthemic chorus, Trophy Eyes are pushing themselves to new heights and I can’t wait to hear more.
Vocalist John Floreani explains:
In many ways, ‘You Can Count On Me’ is a push back – a voice for those who choose not to defend themselves against the growing torch and pitchfork mentality that encircles performers in the era of modern music.
Artists used to be a respected breed. With the uprising of social media, it’s as if listeners think they know us. They follow our every move and make judgements on our character based on a photo they may have seen, or a statement someone may have made.
The American Dream is set for release on August 3rd via Hopeless Records.
