FATHERSON Stun with New Single ‘Making Waves’
With massive chords and an arena-worthy chorus, Fatherson give listeners an idea of what to expect from their recently announced new album, Sum Of All Your Parts.
Fatherson have announced their third album, Sum Of All Your Parts, which will be released on September 14th.
To prepare for this, the band has dropped a new single, Making Waves, which is indicative of what to expect from the album. In the words of guitarist and vocalist Ross Leighton, Making Waves “defined how the album would sound” as well as being a “heart on your sleeve slacker tune with a tonne of groove”. And we couldn’t agree more; from the blissful introduction, growing to the hard-hitting chorus, there certainly is no shortage of moments to jam out to. Heartfelt guitars match the stratospheric vocals, with all the emotions laid bare, clear for all to see.
The track shifts slightly from what fans may perhaps be used to from the band. Bassist Marc Strain goes further to contemplate the shift in the band’s sound, saying:
As a band we’re always going to have “rocky” songs but rock music can be very formulaic and boring. We didn’t want this record to just be a carbon copy of Open Book or I Am An Island. ‘Making Waves’ was the song that made us rethink our process and start to get really excited about this new album.
And they’re not the only one excited about the new album, as we certainly share in their anticipation.
To celebrate their return, the band have announced a few special album preview shows, alongside a handful of summer festivals, followed by UK & Ireland Autumn tour. Catch the band live at the following dates.
