PALE WAVES Unveil Video for ‘Noises’
It’s the most visually inventive video that we’ve seen from the band yet, suiting the dreamy goth-pop music that’s floating through the speakers.
Following the release of their latest single Kiss and their addition onto BBC Radio 1’s prestigious Brit List, Pale Waves are back to dominate your mind with the release of their newest music video for Noises.
With dreamy synth beats and captivating vocals, there’s a feeling of summer dusk in the track as the listener wavers between feelings of intensity and airiness. The passion behind the ardent lyricism is conveyed through soaring highs and breathy falsettos, which will grip you with an emotional intensity you can’t escape from.
Tackling themes of mental health and body insecurity with lyrics like “I feel like I’m slowly losing myself / I’m afraid that I need help” and “Why do I stare so much at my body?”, the single delivers an important message as well as a banging tune. There’s no place to hide from the honesty, which is delivered through glittering melodies, expressing the unspoken thoughts haunting the back of our minds. It’s refreshing in the way it tackles important topics without the track sounding too heavy-hearted.
The video sees vocalist Heather Baron-Gracie in front of a white background, portraying different emotions and different outfits to match. It’s stunning in its simplicity, and the mixture of slowing down and speeding up between the scenes are particularly effective.
The band will be playing their biggest headline show to date at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire in September, so go along and catch this gleaming track live.
