GLASS MOUNTAIN Unveil Music Video for ‘Have To Lie’
Genuine and poignant, here’s the latest clip from Bradford four-piece Glass Mountain.
Taken from the band’s latest EP Wow & Flutter, released earlier this year, Have To Lie is a beautifully crafted offering that will pierce right through your soul.
Musically stripped bare, with delicate vocals and graceful instrumentals, the track exposes the vulnerable side of the human nature. Wrapping all of their fears and sorrows in a harmonic blend, Glass Mountain demonstrate true depth and melodic sensibility in their songwriting.
Shot on Super 8 cine film by London filmmaker Adrian Cousins, the visuals channel the emotions in an exquisite manner adding raw elements in to the whole aesthetics. The song deals with how we often pretend we’re okay even when we’re most certainly not, and the video mirrors that candid allure perfectly.
Speaking about the inspiration behind the song, singer and lyricist Harry Hanson said:
It’s easy to think that you can just push bad thoughts to the back of your head, bottling them up. I am really bad for it as are many other people. Inevitably the bad thoughts will all come back and hit like a wave. It’s better to just get the thoughts out, speak to friends, anyone that will listen. You’re not a burden to anyone if you want to tell them what’s going on in your head. I’ve only recently learned that.
The band have also announced a handful of live dates this Autumn, including a headline Leeds performance and a special intimate performance with Gengahr in November.
