Live: SEA GIRLS // Scala, London

London-based quartet head out on their biggest headline shows to date.

Sea Girls - Scala - London

Located in the heart of London, Scala saw Sea Girls throwing a proper indie celebration last Thursday night. With three EPs to their name, the band treated the capitol to their upbeat, guitar-driven catalogue, adding some brand new bangers in to the mix.

Warmed up by The Pale White, the crowd was buzzing with excitement and anticipation. As crisp guitars of Eat Me Whole kicked things off, the energy levels rocked sky high and the band’s infectious hooks took over the place.

Blending vibrant sonics and relatable lyrics, Sea Girls took us on a journey through their rock-infused melodic tones. Whilst Heavenly War struck with groovy bass lines and delightful drum work, What For was a thrilling cut that soared on sparkling guitars and a singalong chorus. Packing a solid punch, their latest single All I Want To Hear You Say sparked a new flare setting hearts racing and feet pounding.

In between bold hair flicks and stage diving actions, Sea Girls graced the crowd with two brand new songs, Forever and Where You Are, which thrived on their catchy and blissful indie patterns. Hearing from vocalist Henry: “Are you warmed up? Are you sure? Should we go for it? Should we go fucking nuts?”, the crowd didn’t need any more encouragement to lose themselves to the sound of the band’s nostalgia-tinged debut single Call Me Out.

The shimmering Adored brought the grand finale as we watched Henry being tossed over above our heads, slowly disappearing in a confetti rain. But that wasn’t the end, as they took to the stage for the last two songs Daisy Daisy and Lost, which were just the icing on the cake.

Oozing charm and charisma, the set they delivered was a dynamic one that made us forget about the toils of daily life just for a while. For the band and all the indie enthusiasts that filled up Scala that night, it was all about having fun, and frankly that’s exactly what you expect from a rock show. We can’t wait to see what future holds for this young four-piece.
