LEIF ERIKSON Reveal Stunning Visuals for New Single ‘Matter’
Following a period of experimentation and regrouping, Leif Erikson return with a poignant new track, Matter.

Beautifully crafted and intimate, Matter is an introduction to the band’s forthcoming new EP which is expected early next year.
Tackling existential themes, there’s an intangible feel to the track as it gracefully flows in the air. Tantalising guitars and eerie vocals effortlessly swathe you in its melancholic tones, with a tender touch of piano notes and steady drum work added to the mix. Subtly complementing the song, the video montage makes for a visual wonder itself bringing forth the black & white cinematic aesthetics.
Lead singer Sam says that the song is an attempt “to capture something esoteric about life’s purpose, about making the right choices and following the path that is right for you. What is it to be a human and be given this existence that is such a bizarre miracle, but can also be full of pain and struggles. Are there any clues within the infinite universe, a tiny blip of which we occupy or is everything simply the product of chaos? We were very inspired by Curtis Mayfield’s album ‘Roots’ when thinking about ‘Matter’. He so effortlessly makes these incredible statements about life and society over these stunning, super funky musical arrangements.”
