KING PRINCESS Releases Video for ‘Cheap Queen’

King Princess channels the retro vibes in her latest visuals for Cheap Queen, and debuts interlude Useless Phrases

King Princess 2019

Brooklyn’s King Princess has offered the first glimpse into her forthcoming debut album in the form of Cheap Queen, a relaxed yet assured single that marries lulling pop sensibilities with bold lyrics that speak volumes. Sharing the visuals for it, the unique vibes of the music are translated on the screen, with abstract elements coming into play alongside a sprinkle of retro vibes. The video also premieres the interlude Useless Phrases, which will also feature on the upcoming record that is set for release via Mark Ronson’s Zellig Records and Columbia Records later this year.

Between the sultry vocals and effortless beats, King Princess has managed to completely captivate us and the charming allure of Cheap Queen simply continues to ignite the ember that she is blazing right now. There’s no shyness when it comes to the lyrics; King Princess teases ‘I can be good sometimes, I’m a cheap queen’ and this self-assertion is all a part of the irresistible charisma of the track. If this is an indicator of what is yet to come from King Princess, then the future of pop is in very good hands indeed.
