TWIN ATLANTIC Announce New Album ‘POWER’

The Scottish rockers are set to release their fourth album POWER on January 24th 2020, their first release through Virgin EMI, and have unveiled their first single Novocaine.

Twin Atlantic 2019

Twin Atlantic haven’t released any music since 2016, so Novocaine has been a highly anticipated release among fans. Sporting Sam McTrusty’s trademark Glaswegian accent and an enthusiastic instrumental track, the single is an explosive synth-rock anthem. McTrusty says of Novocaine:

I wanted to force myself to be more honest and open. The song tells the story of the most intimate connection I’ve ever felt with someone else – when I first met my wife. That feeling of obsession taking over every thought and reason was almost like an addiction at the time.

Remarkable about POWER is the fact that it’s a fully self-produced album. Recorded in their own Glasgow studio and funded by playing countless gigs, the band didn’t sign a new record deal until the album was finished. Bassist Ross McNae has explained the feeling as “being back in control of our own futures.”

McTrusty concludes of the record:

POWER is our own example that there’s always a way forward when you are faced with limitations and red lights. It’s reignited our ambition and drive for what we can achieve. Hearing these songs, that’s what I feel and hear: power.
