Live: THRICE // O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire, London
One of the most innovative and admirable rock bands around, Thrive brought the London crowd to their knees with their unrivalled performance.
Heading out on a UK co-headline tour with Refused, Thrice were truly masterful from start to finish as they took over O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire last week.
With an unparalled stage presence and uncontainable energy, the band bounced back and forth whilst spinning their arena-worthy catalogue. From the tantalising dark beats of opener Only Us, to the raw emotionally-charged Just Breathe, their tenth album Palms, released last year, shone beautifully in the live arrangement. Dropping their absolute hits into the mix, such as Black Honey and Hurricane, Thrice continued to balance between lighter and heavier tones with remarkable skill and finesse, treating their old school fans to tracks from over a decade ago, including The Artist In The Ambulance, and Red Sky.
With cinematic slow-burner Beyond The Pines rounding things off, it was one hell of an exciting journey that set the bar high for all future shows, proving Thrice to be one of the greatest bands in modern rock history.
