WHILE SHE SLEEPS Unveil Video for New Single ‘FAKERS PLAGUE’
WSS challenge the status quo of modern hypocrisy through a new, atypical music video.
Following the release of their critically acclaimed album SO WHAT?, Sheffield’s While She Sleeps are back with visceral new single FAKERS PLAGUE. Accompanied by a holographic music video experience, the track addresses the rampant deception and fakery that we are faced with daily on the internet.
The peculiar video, sprinkled with carefully placed symbols and robotic song snippets, complements the strong message. The boys rebel against blindly joining this audacious trend of cultivating and expanding a toxic world of smoke and mirrors. They urge the ‘pretenders’ to awaken from slumber and dare them to acknowledge and take ownership of the wrongs they’ve done through promoting an untruthful version of themselves. Their demise will put them in an unsettling position when they won’t be able to hide behind the veil of lies anymore and will have to face their true selves, together with their sins.
Speaking of the new song, Sean Long explains:
This song is a celebration of the end of an extremely difficult personal time within While She Sleeps. We all had a lot of anger building up within us and it was amazing for us to come together and express it through music. Everyone in life has a beautiful side and an ugly side, it’s how we all react and deal with these polarities of life that makes us human. No one is perfect and we certainly aren’t. Let’s embrace it together.
