CHLOE LILAC Shares Video for New Single ‘Here’s Your Song’
Chloe Lilac releases new ‘bedroom indie pop’ tune Here’s Your Song, taken from her untitled upcoming EP to be released later this spring.
The dark pop maker pours her heart out and shares her personal story of processing a feeling we can all relate to – the unexpected pain of being used by a friend. “I thought I would know you my whole life / But you were just two years I wasted”, Chloe Lilac emotionally sings with her raspy voice which goes perfectly with the heavenly subtle guitar notes that slowly fade into the background as the song progresses and becomes heavier as the thumping beats of trap drums and electric synths take over.
Alongside the single, comes the dark 90s grunge-style themed music video (directed by Jasper Soloff), perfectly capturing the essence of the storyline. The main star of the story, Chloe, is not afraid to be personal and show the audience her sadness while crawled up at her own company, an emotion that is quickly replaced by anger as she graphically smears red lipstick on a sex doll.
Speaking of Here’s Your Song, Chloe explains:
This song is one of the most important songs I’ve put out. It’s about feeling used by a friend I used to have and how painful that was for me. This video was a passion project for everyone on my team and was the most I’ve been involved in writing the treatment and creating the video. We used a sex doll to symbolize only being viewed for my sexuality rather than my character as a woman. In the beginning of the video it’s just me, symbolizing how alone and uncomfortable I felt, and by the end I’m with all my friends who supported and uplifted me.
