TOM GRENNAN Reveals Music Video for New Single ‘This Is The Place’
2020 is set to be an epic year for Tom Grennan as he makes a come back with cinematically beautiful music video for his brand new single This Is The Place.
The Bedford sensation opens up about the agony of life after a rough breakup in his new track, This Is The Place, which debuted as Annie Mac’s ‘Hottest Record’ on BBC Radio 1, marking his first new music since his debut album, Lighting Matches, released in 2018. Accompanied by his once again powerful and soaring vocals, the indie bop starts off with dreamy low-key piano notes and subtle electronic drum beats in the background and soon elapses to a catchy hook with rapid guitar strings, making you anticipate for the chorus which definitely does not disappoint.
Capturing the track’s heartfelt lyrics, comes the music video directed by Thomas James, featuring compelling visuals in the land of South Africa where Tom is trying his best to escape from the haunted memories of his previous relationship. “This is the place that I come to forget you, these are the nights that I drink to regret you, these are the times I know I can’t replace you”, he emotionally sings while crashing waves alongside the beach, screaming on top of his lungs on an isolated desert. Swooned over in his bedroom, he is seen emotionally drained in an abandoned city’s highway.
Speaking of the new track, Tom Grennan commented:
This song is about finding a place of complete calm and escaping utter chaos and carnage. My happy place, my go to place! Whether it’s on my own or with the person I love. The song documents the kind of journey I go on to get there, and one that I would make any time of the day to reach a serene and cleansing state of mind.
See him live at an intimate London show for BRITs week with War Child on February 19th.
