DAN CROLL Returns With Double A-Side Single ‘Yesterday’ & ‘Stay In L.A.’
Dan Croll returns from a two-year hiatus with the release of double A-side single Yesterday and Stay in L.A. through Communion Records.
The two singles follow his second album, Emerging Adulthood, that was released in July of 2017.
Throughout the year of 2020, Dan Croll will be releasing new tracks in couplets to show the transition between his time in Liverpool and moving to America. From the universal changes that come with growth, the decision to leave a long-term home, and the drive to chase his musical aspirations. The transition starts with the track Yesterday, an ode to a Beatle produced by Matthew E. White, a sensationally sincere melody partnered up with the intimacy of Dan’s vocals. The second track, Stay In L.A., is a modern ballad detailing the reason that Dan never returned to Liverpool during his travels to L.A, with the subtle use of piano and silky vocals, it brings out the confrontation one has while making a big decision.
Dan explains:
These first two tracks really set the scene for the story of my first year in America, what I was going through mentally and physically, and how the decision to move came to light.
After packing up everything and moving to L.A., Dan went back to his roots with songwriting and brought other musicians’ (James Taylor, Burt Bacharach, Joni Mitcheell) styles into his own.
Feels great not only to be back on the music scene, but to be doing it with songs that I finally feel represent the influences and music I truly love. Both of these tracks mark a fresh start, and though I’m far away from Liverpool they both still draw directly from the sounds and experiences of home.
