SILVERSTEIN Share New Track ‘Bad Habits’ feat. Intervals

Silverstein come to terms with their demons and unapologetically embrace their bad habits with their brand new single.

Silverstein 2020And what a befitting sonic blend for the niche theme this new tune puts forward. While lately there’s been a growing trend of songs highlighting the internal struggles that cloud people’s lives by either throwing vehement and feisty blames at society or by splitting wide open hearts filled with regret and agony, Silverstein put forward a different perspective. What if we just accept our flaws and realise that we most often end up choosing to foster and feed them? Despite the fact that we acknowledge the wrong in our doing, agree that change lies within us and we should strongly pursue it, eventually we prefer to let go and return to dancing with our demons. What if we enjoy all of this ‘misfortune’ and encourage it rather than reject it?

Speaking of the new track, guitarist Paul Marc Rousseau explains:

This record largely deals with the feeling of defeat that can come from trying to overcome your demons, but ‘Bad Habits’ turns that upside down. It’s resigned rather than aspirational. ‘Bad Habits’ is a banger that takes place in that sliver of daylight between recognition and regret. After action, but before reaction. For these three minutes, we’re embracing the devil on our collective shoulder.

Vocalist Shane Told adds:

When we finished putting together ‘Bad Habits’ I knew it was going to be a fan favourite. This song is action-packed and just plain fun. It’s a rush of adrenaline and then Aaron from Intervals comes in shredding and just puts it over the top.

Celebrating their 20th anniversary this year, Silverstein are gearing up to release their ninth studio album, A Beautiful Place To Drown, due out March 6th via UNFD.
