PHOEBE BRIDGES Shares Video for ‘Garden Song’

Phoebe Bridgers, folk-rock indie artist, has released her highly anticipated new single, Garden Song, accompanied by a video directed by her brother Jackson Bridgers.

Phoebe Bridgers 2020

The new track marks Phoebe Bridgers‘ first solo material since her 2017 debut album, Stranger In The Alps, which later resulted in two highly-admired, collaborative projects: Better Oblivion Community Center and boygenius.

Garden Song includes distorted finger-picking alongside witty, humorous lyrics: “I don’t know how but I’m taller / It must be something in the water / Everything’s growing in our garden / You don’t have to know that it’s haunted.” It explains a nostalgic path that we all follow as we grow into a more evolved yet clueless version of ourselves.

The video is an outcome from Bridgers asking her younger brother to film her, a non-smoker, smoking a bong while giving him the opportunity to make her high a little more uncomfortable. This includes furry creatures, other unexpected nuances and at one point, comedian/author Tig Notaro in a monk’s costume.

Bridgers will spend Spring 2020 touring Japan, Australia and New Zealand with The National and North America with The 1975. She has also been invited to perform alongside The 1975 at their Finsbury Park show in London on 11th July and has been announced for Latitude Festival in the UK this July.
